Attacking legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal and bowling all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham of the Indian contingent on tour to Sri Lanka, have been confirmed to have tested positive for Covid-19. The two were among the eight players identified as Krunal Pandya's immediate contacts after he tested positive on July 27.
The six other players in question are Krunal’s brother Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan.
While Krunal was immediately transferred to an isolation facility after testing positive in both the Rapid Antigen and RT-PCR tests on July 27, the remaining eight players remained at the team hotel but were separated from the rest of the touring party.
