Aishwarya Rai summoned by ED over Panama papers case


The Enforcement Directorate on Monday summoned actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to appear before the ED office at Lok Nayak Bhavan in Delhi to record her statement in connection with Panama Papers, a case being investigated by the agency.

A month ago,  Asihwarya’ husband Abhishek Bachchan also reached the ED office. And he also handed over some documents to the ED officials.  The sources say that soon his father Amitabh Bachchan is also going to be called by giving ED notice in this case.

Dubbed as Panama Papers, an investigation of a stockpile of records from Panamanian legal firm Mossack Fonseca by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalist, had named several world leaders and celebrities who had allegedly stashed away money abroad in offshore companies.

Aishwarya  Rai was earlier made the director of a company. Later she was declared a shareholder of the company.  The name of the company was Amik Partners Private Limited. Apart from Aishwarya Rai, her mother Vrinda Rai, father K Rai and brother Aditya Rai were also his partners in the company.

Over 100 of individuals and entities are getting probed by the Mumbai team of Enforcement Directorate – ED  in Panama Papers case.
