Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s brother Vir Chopra dies of Covid-19

Bollywood filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s elder brother and producer Vir Chopra passed away owing to Covid complications. Reportedly, Chopra lost the battle to COVID-19 on 5th July in a private hospital in suburban Mumbai where he was being treated for Coronavirus for almost 21 days.

Vir Chopra got infected with the virus while he was in the Maldives. After two days, he landed in Mumbai and was rushed to H. N. Reliance hospital, for 21 days. He was kept under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He passed away on the 5th evening and was cremated on the 6th July. Vir Chopra is survived by wife and sound designer Namita Nayak Chopra and actor son Abhay Chopra.

Vir Chopra has worked as a creative producer on many of his brother’s films. He had worked with Vidhu Vindod Chopra on films like 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', 'Broken Horses', 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' and '3 Idiots'. His last project was Broken Horses which released in 2015.
