National award-winning director Seenu Ramasamy is teaming up with GV Prakash Kumar for his next project. To be produced by Kalaimagan Mubarak of Skyman Films, this film has talented actress Gayathrie Shankar as the female lead. Today, the makers revealed the title of the film 'Idi Muzhakkam' and the director has opened up about the movie and its title.
"Idi Muzhakkam means the sound of thunder. When you heard the sound of thunder in a small village, the impact is even better. I have drawn a parallel to our lead character's anger in the film. It is as big as the thunder and has an impact. The 1980 Vijayakanth's film was titled Dhoorathu Idi Muzhkkam… and I felt the same would suit this subject as well. But GV suggested we keep it to Idi Muzhakkam as that itself has an impact," Seenu Ramasamy said.
Speaking of the film, producer Kalaimagan Mubarak said, "Idi Muzhakkam is an out-and-out action thriller set in a rural background. Writer Jeyamohan has come up with a great story, and it slightly deviates from Mr Seenu Ramasamy's style."
The shooting of the film is underway in Theni and the producer adds that they plan to wrap it by September. Meanwhile, another Seenu Ramasamy directorial, Maamanithan starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie, is currently awaiting release.
