Union Social Justice and Empowerment minister Thawar Chand Gehlot’s daughter Yogita Solanki succumbed to COVID-19 at the Medanta hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday.
Solanki, 44, was first admitted to Sanjeevani hospital in Ujjain, where she underwent treatment for over 10 days after a CT scan revealed 90% damage to her lungs.
"Tocilizumab injections (a COVID-19 medicine) and other life-saving drugs were given to Solanki, but her life could not be saved despite all our efforts," Medical director of the hospital, Sandeep Srivastava, said.
Yogita Solanki, who was a homemaker, is survived by her husband and two children, a 23-year-old daughter and a 20-year-old son.
