Producer JV Venkat Phanindra Reddy, known as RR Venkat, who bankrolled films like ‘Samanyudu’, ‘Kick’, ‘Businessman’, and ’Poolarangadu’, 'Damarukam' and Autonagar Surya is no more. Venkat, who was suffering from a kidney ailment, breathed his last on Monday at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad. He was 54.
Venkat entered the film industry 15 years ago by distributing and financing films. He soon became a top producer. Ravi Teja starrer ‘Kick’ was a turning point in his career as the producer. His production credits in Hindi include James and Ek Hasina Thi. He also produced a Hollywood film titled Divorce Invitation.
Paying homage to Venkat, actor Ravi Teja tweeted: “Really sad to hear about R.R Venkat garu’s passing away. One of the best producers I’ve worked with. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.”
