Tamil movie comedian and Padma Shri recipient Vivek passed away on April 17. The actor died of a cardiac arrest, a day after he received first dose of Covid vaccine. Vivekh's tragic and sudden demise left all his fans and the entire film fraternity shocked and stunned. Though a few blamed the first shot of the jab as reason, the health officials denied the same.
Now, almost four months after his untimely death, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has launched an investigation into the case and has reportedly ordered to find evidence if Vivekh's death is linked to the vaccination in any way.
NHRC ordered for investigation in the case after a social worker Saravanan from Villupuram filed a petition regarding the same. In his petition to NHRC, the social worker stated the government should disclose the complications that led to the actor’s death. Earlier in April, the Health Department had clarified that his death had nothing to do with the COVID-19 vaccine.
