Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu who resigned as the chief of party's Punjab unit last month withdrew his resignation after a meeting with party president Rahul Gandhi at his residence on Friday evening. Congress' Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat was also present in the meeting.
After the meeting, Harish Rawat said: "Sidhu has assured Rahul Gandhi that he will discharge his responsibilities properly… and he will continue as the Punjab state president. He told Rahul Gandhi that he has withdrawn his resignation."
"He (Sidhu) shared his concerns with Rahul Gandhi. We have told him that his concerns will be taken care of here," Rawat said.
After the meeting, Sidhu tweeted, "I have shared my concerns with Rahul Gandhi ji, was assured they will be sorted out."
