Kannada actress Shanaya Katwe, who starred in movies like Idam Premam Jeevanam, Ondu Ganteya Katha, has been arrested allegedly by Hubballi Rural police in connection with the sensational murder case of Rakesh Katwe, her own brother.
33-year-old Rakesh Katwe was murdered, and his decapitated head was found in the Devaragudihal forest area, while his remaining body parts were disposed of across Gadag Road and other areas in Hubballi recently.
Dharwad Superintendent of Police P Krishna Kant stated that Rakesh Katwe’s sister Shanay Katwe was in affair with one Niyaz Katigar. However, Rakesh was opposing this, and hence Niyaz along with three others eliminated Rakesh. On April 9, Shanaya visited Hubballi to promote an upcoming movie. On the same day, the murder took place in their house. Rakesh was strangled to death.
In a joint operation, Twin City police, and rural police had cracked this case by arresteing Niyaz Katigar, Tousif Channapur, Altaf Mulla, and Aman alias Omar Girniwale; all residents of Hubballi. In the later stage, the police arrested Niyaz’s brother Mallik, Feroz, and Niyaz’s father Safullah.
