A BJP leader was on Tuesday allegedly shot dead by suspected militants in Brazloo-jagir village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, the second such attack in a week. The deceased has been identified as Javeed Ahmad Dar.
Javid Ahmad Dar was affiliated with the BJP and was constituency-in-charge for Homeshalibugh in Kulgam District. This has been the second such incident in a week. A week back another BJP leader and his wife were killed in Anantnag.
BJP has termed the killing of Dar as 'barbaric'. "The sacrifices of our Activists will never go in vain. These Anti-national elements will never be successful in their wrongdoings," said BJP's Ashok Koul.
J&K BJP released a statement on the murder of the party leader in a terrorist attack: “He strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the President of the Homeshalibagh constituency Sh Javed Ahmed Dar, those responsible will not be spared . May God give peace to the deceased soul and courage to their family to endure this terrible loss. Our condolences go out to the family. “
PDP president Mehmooba Mufti has also condemned the killing. "Condemn the killing of BJP leader Javaid Dar & there is no place for such acts of violence. Sympathies & condolences to his family," Mehbooba tweeted.
