Producer and actor Bandla Ganesh, who was last seen in yesterday's release Crazy Uncles, has been roped in to lead role in Telugu remake of the 2019 Tamil thriller Oththa Seruppu Size 7. Directed by debutant Venkat Chandra and produced by Swathi Chandra, the film will go on floors in the first week of September.
“It’s a film that has only a single character throughout; it is honest too, and at the same time a little controversial too. Since whatever Bandla Ganesh says kicks the hornets’ nest in real life, I thought he would perfectly suit the role,” explains Venkat Chandra, adding that he even observed his recent interviews and speech at filmy meetings.
The film will show Ganesh in a new avatar, as the actor-turned-producer is currently going for a makeover.
Oththa Seruppu Size 7, written and directed by R Parthiepan, had bagged the Special Jury Award and the Best Audiography award for its sound designer Resul Pookutty at the 67th National Awards. The film had also entered the Asia Book of Records for having just one cast member.
Besides Telugu, the film is also being remade in Hindi with Abhishek Bachchan stepping into the shoes of Parthiepan. The shooting of the Hindi version is currently underway in Chennai.
