Bihar Police on Friday recovered an AK-47 rifle, live bullets and bombs from the residence of independent MLA Anant Kumar Singh during a raid. The raids were carried out on the legislator’s residence at his ancestral village Nadva after receiving specific inputs that illegal arms were being restored there, Superintendents Police Kantesh Mishra said.

"We had received information that some illegal arms and explosives were stashed inside the house. Accordingly, we conducted a raid. The AK-47 rifle was found wrapped in sheets of paper. Ammunition and explosives were also recovered and bomb disposal squad will do the needful", Superintendent of Police (Rural), Patna, Kantesh Kumar Mishra told reporters.

The MLA angrily reacted to the raid conducted on his ancestral house and alleged a conspiracy has been hatched against me at the behest of Lalan Singh as part of which weapons not belonging to me are being shown as having been recovered. My house has also been badly vandalized during the raid.

In the national election in May this year, Mr Singh's wife Neelam Singh had contested against JDU's Lalan Singh and lost.

"I contested election against Lalan Singh, that is why I am being hounded. Lipi Singh (Barh SP) has been brought to Barh to trouble me. My home is not being raided...it is being demolished by 100 policemen. Na kurki hai, na jabti hai...mera ghar tod rahe hain 4 baje bhore se (They have not given any notice, they have not seized the property, they have breaking my house since 4 am )" Anant Kumar Singh said.
