AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy paid rich tributes to Vijaya Nirmala

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy paid floral tributes to Veteran Telugu actor-filmmaker G. Vijaya Nirmala at her residence in Nanakram Guda on Friday and extended condolences to the family of the deceased.

Vijaya Nirmala, the step-mother of Superstar Mahesh Babu, passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday at Continental Hospitals. Naresh, who is also a popular Telugu actor, took to Twitter to announce the death of his mother. “I regret to inform you that my mother, senior artiste, prominent producer and director Dr.A G Vijaya Nirmala passed away during early hours today, that is, 27.6.2019, at Continental Hospitals, Hyderabad, due to sickness. She was 75,” Naresh tweeted.

“Her body will be kept at our residence from 11 a.m. Final rites will be held tomorrow (Friday).”

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao too visited the house yesterday morning and paid homage to the departed soul. He also consoled the family members.

Vijaya Nirmala is known for her acting and direction in Tollywood film industry has directed over 40 films. She had also marked her entry in the Guinness book of world records as the female director with the highest number of films in 2002.  In 2008, the Andhra Pradesh government conferred her with Raghupathi Venkaiah award for her contribution to Telugu cinema.

Final rites of Vijaya Nirmala will be performed today evening at their farmhouse in Chilkuru in the presence of family members.
