Varun Tej confirms being approached for Jigarthanda Telugu remake
11 January, 2019
Mega prince Varun Tej, whose recent release Anthariksham didn’t do well at the box office, is pinning all his hopes on F2-Fun and Frustration in which he is sharing screen space with Victory Venkatesh. Directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju, F2 has Tamannah and Mehreen as female lead roles. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring tunes for F2 which is hitting the screens tomorrow as a festive treat.

From past few days rumors are doing rounds that Varun Tej  has been approached to play one of the leading roles in Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster film Jigarthanda directed by Karthik Subbaraj. It is heard that Varun Tej is being considered for Bobby Simha role in the remake which is going to be helmed by Harish Shankar. When asked about the same in a recent interview, Varun agreed that Harish has approached him with the remake proposal.

“But I haven’t signed the dotted line yet. I am considering the offer only because it is a film that I really liked watching. I will be taking a call very soon,” Varun said.

Released in 2014, "Jigarthanda" revolves around a gangster and a filmmaker and what happens when their lives cross paths. Apparently, Harish roped in Naga Shourya and Rashmika Mandanna for the lead roles and is considering Varun for a negative role. The official confirmation will be out once Varun gives his nod for the film.
