Actor STR aka Simbu, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming family entertainer 'Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven' has filed a defamation case against his Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan producer Michael Rayappan.

Last year, Rayappan alleged that STR did not cooperate during the shoot of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan and hence, his production house incurred a huge loss. Later, Tamil Film Producers Council’s President Vishal also interfered in this matter and tried to amicably sort out the issue.

In STR’s plea, he mentioned Michael Rayappan’s baseless allegation defaming his status in the industry and also Vishal’s interference in the matter. STR also moved the court to order Rayappan to settle Rs 1 crore compensation for the mental agony the actor underwent during the issue. The Madras High Court has a sent legal notice to both Rayappan and Vishal to file their side clarification in the issue.

On the film front, STR is all set to begin his new film ‘Maanaadu’ with Venkat Prabhu in February.
