19 September, 2018
TDP MLA from Tirupati Sugunamma denied the rumours of her quitting the party. From last few days reports doing the rounds suggested that Sugunamma, who seems to be unhappy because she has been sidelined by the TDP leadership, would quit the party. Recently, Sugunamma skipped meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Tirumala.  It was reported by a news daily that Sugunamma was in touch with Jana Sena leaders and may join the party soon. However, putting a rest to the speculation, Sugunamma completely dismissed the rumors.

In a statement, Sugunamma made it clear that she was not leaving the Telugu Desam Party and expressed surprise at reports in a section of media that she had decided to join another party.  She told, her husband late Venkata Ramana joined TDP because of the faith he has on Chandrababu Naidu. She added, she will not leave TDP and will continue in the party till the end.

Sugunamma was angry on Tirumala Tirupati Devestanam for not allowing her to join Mahasamprokshanam conducted in the temple recently.  She was not allowed to enter into Vaikuntam.
